500_mainToyota Motor Philippines (TMP) began production of completely knocked-down (CKD) and semi knocked-down (SKD) units at its plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna back in 1989. And 23 years later, what is now the Philippines' largest automaker marked yet another milestone when they celebrated the production of their 500,000th vehicle - a brand new Toyota Innova - in a ceremonial line-off held at TMP's headquarters last March 8, 2012.

“This milestone is a testament to the unrelenting devotion to excellence of every Team Member who helped make Toyota Motor Philippines what it is today,” remarked TMP Vice Chairman Alfred Ty. “We shall further solidify Toyota’s partnership with the Philippines while continuing to contribute to economic development in the country. We shall constantly innovate ourselves to meet the dynamic needs of our customers and remain committed to help shape a more progressive future for the Philippines.”

If you've watched documentaries such as National Geographic's Mega Factories, then you probably know, more or less, what goes inside a vehicle production line. But unlike the plants they feature on TV that roll out exotic Italian supercars, Isuzu's facility at the Laguna Technopark in Biñan, Laguna assemble more modest AUVs, pickups, and trucks. What sets them apart, though, is that every single brand new vehicle they produce is proudly Philippine made. And to celebrate the plant's 15th anniversary, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) invited us for a plant visit to see just how much love they put into each Isuzu vehicle.
