Toyota gives us something to rave about: The all-new 2014 RAV4

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is starting the year right by giving us something to rave about as they unveiled the long due all-new 2014 RAV4. It looks nothing like its predecessors; that’s for sure.
Presented in Red Mica Metallic, the all-new RAV4 was definitely dressed to impress. Its now well defined features are a very welcome change from the bulbous details it once had. It was almost like the final episode of 'The Biggest Loser.' The once rotund figure had evolved into what looks like a hunkier version of himself. It looks like Toyota really stepped up to make a worthy competitor of the RAV4 against the likes of the Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson.

It was exactly 153 days ago when our eyes first caught a glimpse of the all-new Almera. Colored in Titanium Grey and sporting a huge set of aftermarket rims from Concept One, the subcompact was the centerpiece of Nissan's booth at the 2012 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). But something just didn't feel right back then. While it was displayed in all its glory, there was no fancy product presentation nor were there any brochures being given away like a typical public unveiling should. Instead, it stood there as a silent monument to let everyone know what was coming to eventually blow the competition out of the water. And at last, the wait is finally over.
We were there last night when the much-awaited all-new Nissan Almera made its official debut. Though we've already had to get up close and personal with it a few months back, this was the perfect chance to rekindle the relationship. And by doing so, we were able to gather 8 reasons for you to love the all-new Almera:

It's been a while since the world has last seen a new Corvette; exactly eight years have passed since the C6 (6th gen) was introduced. Since then, the competition has upped the ante and introduced their own interpretation of the ultimate American muscle car (see SRT Viper). However, just as the very first Corvette (C1) changed the scene 60 years ago, so does the latest all-new 2014 C7 Corvette. And on the 50th anniversary of the legendary C2 Corvette, they've resurrected a historical badge from the Corvette's long colorful history and christened this the Stingray.

Lexus on the right path with the all-new 2014 IS

Unless you've been living under a rock, you should have noticed that Lexus is currently on the initiative in rejuvenating its entire line up, which all started with the LFA. They've already crossed out the ES, GS, LS, LX, and RX on their to-do list, and the next to get the much-needed treatment is the all-new 2014 IS that's scheduled to make its debut in Detroit.

Just because you're small doesn't mean you can't dream big, right? So what Peugeot sent their latest 208 subcompact to the gym and gave it a few shots of creatine. And after months of sweat, blood, and tears, this is what they got: the all-new 2008 compact crossover.
As they've intended the 2008 for a global market, Peugeot took a more conservative approach in the design department. And when I say “conservative,” I mean they tried to make it fit in a bit better with the rest of four-wheelers on the road, unlike the outlandish Citroëns. But that doesn't mean it doesn't stand out in a crowd.

Bow down peasants, Toyota's got the all-new 2013 Crown

For those who were already around in the 70's, you probably know what a Toyota Crown is. In fact, the model has been around since 1955 and is touted as Toyota’s flagship sedan. And to cap off the year of the water dragon, the Aichi-based Japanese car manufacturer rolled-out the red carpet for the all-new 2013 Crown.
Two flavors of the Crown are on offer: a commanding Royal and a stylish Athlete.

Volvo hints arrival of all-new V40 in the Philippines by Q1 2013

Back in December 2012, we dropped by Volvo Makati to catch up with our friends from Viking Cars Inc. And while checking out their showroom display, we chanced upon their latest 2013 brochure. It listed down all their dealerships, including the upcoming Volvo Alabang and Volvo North EDSA, with their full line-up for the coming year. Of course it had the C30, S40, S60, V60, S80, XC60, and XC90. But there was a particular one that caught our eye, one that wasn't on the list a few months back. It was the all-new Volvo V40. According to one of their staff, it's coming first quarter of this year.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been a four-eyed-fiend since 1995. So after two and a half generations, the Germans with their fancy mustaches finally had enough of it and traded four-eyes for two in the refreshed E-Class for 2014. While its yet to make its public debut at the upcoming 2013 Detroit Auto Show, they went ahead and gave us all the specs so we start drooling over it.
