Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) has done it again. In just the five months of the year, the exclusive distributor of the Korean automaker in the Philippines managed to sell 10,395 units, which is a whopping 29% jump over the 8,062 they achieved in the same period last year. Looks like they're really giving Mitsubishi a run for their money.

What used to be the underdog in the 90's, Kia is now the new fastest-growing automotive brand in the Philippines after it posted a remarkable 89% year-on-year sales growth last May 2012. Under the management of the Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC), the exclusive distributor of the Korean automaker in the country, Kia sold 3,246 units in the first five months of this year - a huge jump from the mere 1,715 sold in same period in 2011.

Numbers published by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) shows that Kia enjoyed a healthy 5% share of the total industry sales from January to May 2012 and ranked 5th in their YTD charts.

Contrary to popular belief, sports is not merely an activity or a past time. It's actually an effective instrument for fostering community and youth development through character building, fair competition, and promotion of camaraderie. That's why Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai in the Philippines, teamed up with The Younghusband Football Academy (TYFA) to create the Hyundai-TYFA Football Sports Development Campaign.

This long-term program aims to develop talented Filipino footballers into world-class players through public school students and PE teachers in various parts of the country. TYFA has already conducted football clinics in Metro Manila, La Union, Tarlac, Palawan, and Bacolod. And to help them reach farther provinces, HARI donated a Hyundai-Younghusband Sports Van H-100 designed personally by Phil and James Younghusband.

Living up to their slogan “New Thinking. New Possibilities.”, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) is helping build a home for science in the Philippines by signing up as one of the parters of The Mind Museum at Taguig (TMMT). HARI's donation covers the Atom Gallery which features the most number of interactive exhibits in the museum and showcases the different elemental forces such as gravity, electromagnetism, light, and sound.

After months of waiting, the raging bull is finally here. Although the Italian supercar brand had its soft launch as early as January, Lamborghini Manila has now officially and finally opened its showroom doors. So if you have a big enough bank account, you can call them up right now and set up an appointment so you can get up close and personal with one of these rare beasts.

Lamborghini Manila sits right beside fellow PGA Cars Inc. conglomerate Audi Global City, located on the 11th Ave. at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig. On top of Lamborghini's full model range, the supercar dealership also offers warranty and full maintenance services, as well as spare parts and accessories to make sure that all bulls, old and new, are in tip top shape. And if you don't want to just drive Lamborghini, you can also wear Lamborghini, as they're also distributors of the exclusive fashion line of Collezione Automobili Lamborghini.

Before anything else, lets get one thing straight: Peugeot, being a French car maker, is properly pronounced as 'pew-shjo', but some British motorsport commentators prefer to call it as 'pur-zhoh' so don't be confused.

Brought in by the Alvarez Group of Companies, the same people behind the KIA (Columbian Autocar Corporation) and BMW (Asian Carmakers Corporation), Eurobrands Distributor Inc. - otherwise known as Peugeot Philippines - is all set to open its doors to business in just a few months’ time. Although they've already divulged to us which models they're bringing in this year, we've been asked to keep mum until the brand's official launch at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) in August. So, to tickle your excitement, here are some things you need to know about the brand.

When heavy monsoon floods crippled Honda's manufacturing plant in Thailand late last year, the supply shortage it caused left Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) nothing to sell. Thus, despite the overhead higher costs, they had no choice but to import their stocks from Japan just to keep up with the demand. This also pushed back the launch of several new models such as the City, Civic, and CR-V, and temporarily wiped the Jazz 1.3L off their line-up. But now that their facility in Thailand is back up and running, HCPI has now resumed sales of the 1.3L version of the Honda Jazz starting this May.

While the rest of the Philippine automotive industry declined by 1%, the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID) enjoyed a strong start for the second quarter of 2012 with a 31% growth. From January to April of this year, AVID members were able to sell a total of 10,633 units, compared to the 8,119 in the same period last year. On top of that, April's overall total sales also rose by 12% versus the same month in 2011.
