At the forefront of this success is the country's best-selling vehicle, the Vios, which also recorded its highest monthly total of 1,654 units. And during this record-breaking run, TMP managed to grab hold of 49.8% of the Philippines' passenger car segment with 2,155 units sold.
Toyota also retains its top spot in the Commercial Vehicle segment by registering sales of 4,103 units, which translates to 40% of the market share. The locally manufactured Innova continues to be the best-selling MPV in the country, while the Avanza, Hilux, and Fortuner continue to post strong figures.
In a statement, TMP President Michinobu Sugata stated “Since TMP started its operations in 1988, it has been our sincere wish to provide Filipino customers with best quality and affordable products as well as unmatched customer service. During this journey, we at TMP acknowledge that none of these would be possible without the trust and support of our customers. I would like thank all our loyal patrons for everything. The achievement of this record breaking sales milestone is a testament to their confidence in the brand.”
In addition to TMP's success, its sister company Lexus Manila Inc., also posted their own record high with 41 units sold for the month of July.
