Eco-Safe Driving
Studies have shown that each liter of gasoline burned produces up to 2.4kgs of CO2. And with eco-safe driving, fuel consumption and vehicle emission is expected to drop by 20%. Do the math, and you'll quickly see that we can reduce CO2 emissions by as much as 6 million tons each year.
You too can be an eco-safe driver simply by changing your driving habits, such as: monitoring your fuel consumption, plan your trips, avoid idling, drive smoothly, follow the prescribed maintenance schedule of your car, and use fuel efficient vehicles such as the all-new 2012 Civic with its ECON mode and Eco Coaching Ambient Meter.
HCPI has already implemented the Eco-Safe Driving and Clean Fleet Management Program as far back as October 2010. By using the Clean Fleet Management Toolkit from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), it has successfully trained more than 400 admin and fleet personnel from 43 government agencies through classroom and hands-on training on fuel-efficient and safe driving practices. And with the 1'M Blue Campaign, HCPI is hoping to tap the over 6 million registered vehicle owners in the Philippines.
