Hard court action begins at 23rd Mitsubishi Lancer International Junior Tennis Championship on March 20

The Philippines' longest-running tennis tournament is back on its 23rd year to bring more action on the hard court. A total of 96 players from around the globe is set to compete at this year's Mitsubishi Lancer International Junior Tennis Championship (MLIJTC), held from March 20 to 25, 2012 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
 
The 23rd MLIJTC is expected to hit sports headlines with its top seeded players with Nikola Milojevic of Serbia, Stefan Vinti of Romania, Indy De Vroome of Netherlands, and Eliveta Kulichkova of Russia. Joining the top ranksfrom the Philippines will be 15-year-old Jurence Mendoza and 17-year-old Tamitha Nguyen.
 
Among the international players contending in this year's championship are: Lleyton Hewitt, the youngest male tennis player to rank number one and recognized as one of the 40 greatest tennis players since 1965 by Tennis Magazine; American Andy Roddick, currently 6th ranked player in the world and top-ranked in the US; and Leander Paes of India. While playing for our country's pride will be: Francesca La’o; Jennifer Saret; Maricris Fernandez, No. 1 ranking player in Asia under 14 and gold medalist at the Southeast Asian Games; Francis Alcantara, Australian Open Grand Slam winner; and Jeson Patrombon.
 
On top of the week-long tournament, the MLIJTC will once again be offering a FREE tennis clinic at 9:00 am on March 25, where national coaches will personally share their expertise and train participants. Interested tennis players may register at the Rizal Memorial Stadium starting March 20, 2012, and first 20 registrants will receive a Ralliart item.

(MMPC) with the International Tennis Federation, Philippine Tennis Association, and its major sponsor the renowned sports brand, Accel, in cooperation with Tecnifibre - the 23rd MLIJTC official tennis ball, Gatorade, Hidden Spring, and Century Park Hotel.
