The upcoming BOSS Ironman Challenge VII gets a kick start for 2012 as the Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the Philippine distributor of BMW, and Autohaus BMW formally sign a deal to back the annual cross-country event. Organized by the BMW Owners Society of Saferiders (BOSS), the 2012 edition of the BOSS Ironman Challenge will officially take off on the eve of January 14, 2012 at the Balintawak Home Depot and tour around 11 provinces in Luzon non-stop to cover over 1,200 kilometers on two-wheels within 24 hours.
What began as a simple adventure run in 2006 has now turned into an annual endurance challenge with over 300 competitors from all walks of life. A rider's skill is put to the test, as they must navigate through the designated route and stretch the limits of physical endurance in this 24-hour bike race. It's also a great opportunity for them to meet other riding enthusiasts from all over the country and enjoy the beautiful sights of North Luzon. And due to the event's success, the BOSS Ironman Challenge has opened its entries to car enthusiasts as well.
The route takes the riders around Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Viscaya, Isabela, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan, Tarlac, and finally with the final checkpoint in Clark, Pampanga.
The BOSS Ironman Challenge is not a race against the clock and does not award medals or trophies. Instead, it is a real test against man and machine, and successfully become a true BOSS Ironman.
