Race to the Flag
Just as the heavens cleared up, lights turned green at exactly 10:30 in the morning for six hours of non-stop wheel-to-wheel racing. The green Civic EG of Team Flatout opened a gap from the word go with TrackHOS' black Sentra giving a close chase. While at the other end of the pack, Marc Young Racing and their white Civic EF gingerly clawed their way up back the field.
Team Hygenix-Sola was clearly having a bad day after their blue Civic EK suffered several electric problems, which put them out for more than half of the race. But with the team's strong spirit, they forged on to complete the six hours even if they finish in dead last. And despite the strong showing from Team Flatout's white Civic Esi, their machine unfortunately expired just after the 3-hour mark.
Midfield, it was a duel between MyMitsu and MitsuLancerPH 2 even though the two teams were competing in different classes. But at the end, MyMitsu's red FM-2 Lancer finished nine laps ahead with their consistent driving.
Endurance Run
After six-hours of racing, it was the untouchable Team Flatout and their green Civic EG who clinched the checkered flag in first, along with the P50,000 grand prize. They were closely followed by TrackHOS' black Sentra who finished just 6 laps behind. Performing better than expected, Superlux and their FM-2 black Civic FD took the “slowly but surely” strategy which earned them the third spot.
With the PEC's stringent rules on safety and diving conduct, the six-hour race thankfully saw no incidents.
