With the disappointment of race one behind him, Zulberti put his head down and within the first lap, made his way from 11th to 5th and closed within 2 seconds of race leader Raymond Cudala of Tuason Racing School (TRS). This sets up a perfect showdown for the final race of the day.
As expected, race three turns into a nail-biting eight laps with Zulberti dicing for first place with other four drivers. He fiercely defended the lead and crossed the finished line with a mere 0.179 second lead to win the 6th leg of the 2011 Petron Karting Super Series. City Kart Racing team-mate, Chamness, drove an equally determined race, but only managed 8th due to a mechanical issue.
"Going from last place in race two, to first in race three took focus, determination, and hours of practice. Our kids have fun and we make sure they enjoy the sport as a way to build life skills. It seems our approach is starting to work in terms of podiums and wins, but what is most important is keeping the sport safe, fun, and accessible to more young drivers so we can make the sport grow in the Philippines. We look forward to the final leg of the 2011 series in Carmona, Sta. Rosa, in late November,” remarked City Kart Racing Team director Jean-Marc Freihuber.
