Chevrolet adds two more fuses to the Spark

When we had our fun with the 2011 Chevrolet Spark some time ago, it gave us something to talk about in our "Beaming Around Town" test drive. The subcompact really had a lot going for it, so I’m not at all surprised that I see more and more of it on the roads everyday. However, The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI), the official distributor Chevrolet in the Philippines, decided to heat things up a little bit more by introducing two new variants of the Spark - 1.0L engines with 4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmissions.

Everything else is kept the same - the interiors, the LED-lit instrument cluster, the surprising legroom - but smaller engines doesn’t mean these 1.0 AT and MT models are pip-squeaks; they come equipped with 1.0L DOHC in-line-4 engines and can go from 0 to 100km/h in a respectable 15.5 seconds. And as if we’re not already very pleased with the 17km/L fuel consumption of the 1.2 MT, the 1.0L variants can go as far as 22 kilometers to the liter. How’s that for economical? It’s style without the guilt!

As if eye-popping colors weren’t enough, Chevy recognizes the need for each individual to personalize his or her own ride, so rest assured that original accessories are available for the Spark. Don’t worry; with an introductory price of P518,888 for the 1 liter LS manual transmission variant and P568,888 for the 1 liter LS automatic transmission, genuine parts will definitely be within budget. And yes, Chevrolet’s 5-year warranty is included in the price tag.
