The best of the best
Reliving its rich heritage, the Trans Sport Show will be gathering 13 of its past Best of Show winners, all of which have neither lost their gleam nor glory through the years. The 4th Manila Sports Car Club Concours d' Elegance, too, will flaunt their share of rare classics. Regarded as the country's most prestigious car competition, entrants are only limited to 30 of the best restored and preserved cars in the Philippines from 1976 or older. On a different note, the 1st Philippine Nostalgic Motor Show will take a look back into the history of motorsports, parading classics that enjoyed their former glory days on the track or on the rally stages.
With the multitude of classics and modern entries this year, searching for the best of the best is a task better left to the most seasoned judges. Leading the panel will be Minoru Goku from Japan with countrymen Osamu Hasegawa and Kenji Yamazaki and Singaporean Peter Chan. But to recognize both old and the new, the 20th Trans Sport Show will set another milestone by crowing two Best of Shows - Contemporary and Nostalgic.
On top of the display, the Grand 3-Ring Motoring Event also hosts a multitude of activities to up the ante. Barry Meguiar of the Meguiar's Car Care Products franchise will make a special “Meet and Greet” appearance on the show's opening day. MP Turbo will then kick up some dirt as they flag off on the evening of the 28th with their Phoenix Fuels-Transshow Auto Rally, as competitors race through the providences of Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, and Laguna. Meanwhile, the Die Cast Car Collectors of the Philippines (DCCPH) will be doing their own “Heritage Cars in Miniature” display. Of course, any car show wouldn't be complete without the lovely models, so the Search for the 2011 Miss Trans Sport Show will surely stir up the atmosphere.
The Grand 3-Ring Motoring event is sponsored in part by The House of Precast, Solar Auto Club, and 3M Philippines.
