gtacademy gt3
Well that's disappointing. All four 2013 winners of Playstation's GT Academy have been denied entry into this year's British GT Championship on the grounds that they're “too fast” in a sport where going fast is the name of the game. Ironic isn't it?

You see, back in 2012, GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough entered the British GT Championship alongside Alex Buncombe in the national Pro-Am category. As the “amateur,” Mardenborough was expected to be slower of the pair, but proved otherwise. The two pushed their Team RJN Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 that they almost won the championship.

superbowl 2013
It’s that time of year again for the biggest American football game of the year. As with most other advertisers on TV, car brands are no different at making witty, memorable campaigns that go viral during the season. Does anybody remember Adriana Lima’s five-hour video for Kia in 2012? There may not be as many viral characters - and scantily clad women - at the 2013 Super Bowl compared to last year, but the ads are nonetheless just as witty. Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory made an appearance as a purple-suited genie for one car brand this year; can you guess which one? But nothing beats Mercedes-Benz's star-studded cast which includes Kate Upton, Usher, and Willem Dafoe. And while they didn't have any Hollywood superstars, Hyundai was not letting themselves be left behind by coming up with no less than five videos this year.

For the avid couch potato who doesn’t follow sports, the viral Super Bowl ads can only be rivaled by the game’s halftime show. This year, Beyonce put her fierce on and showed the stadium who run the world. The Destiny’s Child tripled the excitement, especially for kids of the 90’s and early 2000’s.

Do this year’s Super Bowl car ads trump last year’s? See for yourself. Here are the best car commercials from the Super Bowl XLVII 2013.

gt5vette main
A camouflaged prototype of the next generation Corvette C7 has been available for download since November 2012. And since then, nearly 500,000 fans of Gran Turismo 5 (GT5) have done just that so they can race this new American muscle on track before the real deal hits showrooms near the end of 2013. But now that the world has seen the Corvette Stingray C7 in all its glory at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the powers that be at Chevrolet and Polyphony Digital Inc. (developers of the Gran Turismo franchise) worked together to deliver the closest thing anyone can get to driving the latest 'Vette.

The best part is, it's a free download, since January 15 2013, at the PlayStation Store on PlayStation 3 for anyone who owns the game.

Christmas is barely a week away, and I'm pretty sure there are some of you who are still scrambling for that last-minute gift idea. Sure, Santis Deli and Rustan's have some great stuff, but do you really want to give yet another Christmas basket this year like what you did last year? Be the cool dad, uncle, husband, or best friend that everyone will remember this yuletide season when you get them one of these awesome Sovov Mini Refs.

Available in the shape of an Egg, Retro Ref, or a Soccer Ball, the stylish Mini Refs from Sovov can easily fit between 8 to 14 soda/beer cans, plus some snacks, depending on the model. Just imagine how handy they will come for midnight snacks, hot summer days, or for that next (insert sport here) championship on TV. We've even heard people using them to store cosmetics, medicine, and breast milk.

versailles main
If you’ve been to the Chateau de Versailles in France, it wouldn’t be uncommon to daydream about how the likes of King Louis XIV and his successors lived in such luxury and lavishness. It must have been quite the lifestyle waking up to its regal architecture and lush foliage everyday. On the other hand, for those of you who have yet to step into this Mediterranean mansion, now is your chance to visit and live in it - its local version, anyway.

Location, Location, Location
Just along Daang Hari, Alabang, State Properties Corporation (the same people behind Great Wall) setup their ambitious housing project aptly called Versailles. Its 75 hectares of lush greens and flowers, paved roads, and cobble bricks emulate the French Mediterranean lifestyle. It aims to give its would-be residents the opulence they’ve been searching for.

Late in October 2012, Pilipinas Shell caught the LEGO bug when they launched the Ferrari toy collection. These officially-license toys were made available at Shell stations nationwide, where you could get them every time you gas up. Thankfully, they were kind enough to give us a complete set, saving us the trouble of having to drive a few tanks' worth of fuel just to put together this LEGO Ferrari collection. And as big LEGO nuts ourselves, we Collected, Built, and Raced every single one of them just like Shell asked us to do.

After spending several hours playing with these minifigures, here's everything you need to know about Shell's LEGO Ferrari toy collection.

I haven’t really been to a lot of places in the world. Vietnam, like any country, would be a new experience for me. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, except the hoards of motorcycles I’ve been hearing about. That and baguettes.

Our hostel, the Saigon Youth Hostel, is six stories tall and not wide in any way. The buildings here seem to generally be like this - tall and flat. One thing I noticed here in Ho Chi Minh, despite having to cross a shady alleyway to and from our accommodations is that the city is clean. Noticeably cleaner than Manila. (And all toilets have tissue paper!)

In the three days we were to stay in Ho Chi Minh, my friend and I decided we want to fully immerse ourselves in the city. And what better way to immerse ourselves in this city’s flavors than to sign up for a cooking class?

If you're old enough to be into motorsports back in the 60's and 70's in the Philippines, then you should know great names such as Pocholo Ramirez, Dante Silverio, and Mandy Eduque amongst others. You might also be one of the lucky few who have experienced the thrill of the Manila Grand Prix, Greenhills Grand Prix, and The Gedol Great Philippine Rally in the flesh. But for those who weren't even born yet at the time or the few who want to relieve the the experience, here's your chance to rediscover the golden age of Philippine motorsport.

Making its premier on the big screen on November 28, 2012, “Racing with Legends” is a one-hour movie documentary that tells the tale of how motor racing began in the Philippines.
